Never Too Early to Start: Early Fetal Echocardiography Symposium
Date: November 21-22, 2026
Location: Fairmont Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
Hosted by: The University of Alberta | Department of Pediatrics
This symposium will take place on November 21-22, 2026 at the exquisite Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada, nestled in one of most beautiful locations in the Canadian Rockies. The course consists of 1.5 days of lectures and demonstrations of early fetal echocardiography. The sessions are led by the team from The Stollery Fetal and Neonatal Cardiology Program in Edmonton, a program well known for leading the field in early fetal echocardiography (both in clinical and research realms). Guest lecturers will include international experts in the field of early fetal echocardiography (Dr Anita Moon-Grady, UCSF), maternal-fetal medicine (Dr Tim Van Mieghem, University of Toronto) as well as in fetal clinical genetics and maternal-fetal-medicine (Dr Teresa Sparks, UCSF). The content will cover how to perform an early fetal echo, examples of cases, live demonstrations, and information on first trimester screening with tips on how to set up an early fetal echo program. We will focus on performance and accuracy of early fetal echocardiography as well as early fetal cardiac and anatomical screening and genetic screening and testing.
