Please join us for our next free, educational webinar titled “Noninvasive Pregnancy Testing: Screening ≠ Diagnostic” on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 8:30 pm ET .

Recently the New York Times focused on some negative aspects about Noninvasive Pregnancy Testing (NIPT). We are going to present 2 contrasting cases where NIPT played a major role in care and counseling. Allison Schartman, MS, CGC from Riley Children’s Hospital MFM and Fetal Center will discuss the strengths and limitations of NIPT and discuss how results are assessed.

Mary Norton, MD, Professor and Division Chief Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at UCSF, Kristyne Stone MS, CGC from Riley Children’s Hospital MFM and Fetal Center, and Sheetal Patel, MD, MSCI Assistant Professor from Lurie Children’s Hospital will form the discussion panel. The discussion will range from counseling for possible genetic abnormalities in general and with respect to NIPT results, challenges with broad and unsupported screening, the role on early NIPT in a challenging landscape of pregnancy laws, to how MFM and Fetal cardiologists can counsel in ways that are helpful to our Genetic Counseling colleagues.

Join us in the discussion of this interesting and salient topic!
